Below the entrance hall of the main gallery is a boutique with a large selection of clothing that ranges from full powwow- or museum-quality regalia to t-shirts and sweats. Here you'll also find casual leather wear, hand knitted or woven winter clothes and blankets, leather accessories and souvenirs. For collectors or powwow participants, we offer pipes, fans, staffs, rattles, chest plates and much much more.
Some of the items here are made locally, others are designed by craftspeople across the country.
Some of our traditional as well as contemporary clothing is available in all sizes. We also stock children's hair accessories, belts, headbands, craft supplies, books, toys and gift items.
Thick, handmade sweaters, vests and blankets are made to keep out the Canadian winter. Beautiful patterns of loons, bears, and other northern imagery are worked into wool, felt, fleece, leather and the fur of native (non-endangered) animals.
Nothing is wasted as smaller ends of leather goods are worked into bags, belts, change purses, headbands, even keychains.
A very fine selection of moccasins can be found upstairs beyond the jewelry counters. Ranging from every-day casual leather slip-ons, to museum quality beadwork, this collection even includes baby booties!
These boots and gauntlets are truly magnificent, both in their intricate quill- and beadwork and the leather itself. Made of caribou and moose leather, these items are smoke tanned - you can still smell the cedar!
Not to point out the obvious, but Winter is on its way and we've stocked up on these wonderful double-size wool blankets. The traditional designs are printed in various colours on both sides of the blanket as shown in the example below. Choose from a variety of native and nature themes, $300 each.
