Apache Water Jug
Hand made on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. All of our pottery pieces are hand made and therefore individual and unique. The design concepts incorporate Aboriginal heritage, customs and beliefs.
Apache Jug comes from the Apache Nation in the American Southwest. The Apache’s traditional territory is desert. If they were attacked by an enemy, especially the Army, the Apache would retreat into the desert, where they had hidden food and water. Researchers believe that the long slender neck design enabled the warrior to share a drink with his horse.
Jug measures 9.5"H, 8"W. Made from clay, leather, wooden beads and feathers, hand painted. Inquire about this item or more works by Barbara
